http://www.biblestudytools.com/ Has become my new favorite Bible Study website.
I find that it is a bit easier to navigate than some of the other Bible sites, and I like how it lays the information out for you.
So if you have trouble doing a daily devotion, they even have a devotion link on the first page. I just set it as my home page, so that when I need the Word its always a browser click away.
I am also adding it to my sidebar so that if you ever need to find something while reading, you can just click and away you go. I am working on a few ideas to help you in your journey stay tuned there is more good to follow.
32“Therefore (A)everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven.
33“But (B)whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
34“(C)Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword.
35“For I came to (D)SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW;
35“For I came to (BA)SET A MAN AGAINST HIS FATHER, AND A DAUGHTER AGAINST HER MOTHER, AND A DAUGHTER-IN-LAW AGAINST HER MOTHER-IN-LAW;
36and (BB)A MAN’S ENEMIES WILL BE THE MEMBERS OF HIS HOUSEHOLD.
37“(BC)He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me.
38“And (BD)he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me.
39“(BE)He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it.
No matter what, Christ must be first, above friends, family. That doesn’t mean we don’t love our friends and family, but if they think we are crazy for following Jesus, then so be it, Christ must be first. Love must be our standard in all that we do, but expect friction when you want to live for Jesus. That’s just the way the world turns.
A picture of becoming one with God was set before us long before we were born. In Genesis 5, we learn about a man named ENOCH who walked with God for some 300 years…
GEN 5:22-24
22And Enoch walked with God after he begat Methuselah three hundred years, and begat sons and daughters:
23And all the days of Enoch were three hundred sixty and five years:
24And Enoch walked with God: and he was not; for God took him.
Here is the key part. He was no more, because God took him away. I think this is a powerful spiritual picture of who we are to be in Christ.
I think that when we fail to walk with Jesus daily, we grow stale and weak, and we begin to eat the bread of depression, discouragement, and disillusionment.
Are you walking with God daily? Enoch did, and the secret of closeness with God is revealed… he was taken by God. Are you taken with God? Do you allow yourself to be caught up in HIM? Or do you just plod through the day knowing there is a God, but not knowing HIM?
So many people want to hear from God… Do you?
If you answered yes, ask yourself one question. Why on earth would you want to hear from God if you won’t do what Jesus commanded, if you don’t want to be obedient with what you already know, how will piling more on the plate help?
If you are in the boat of people who want some divine graffiti, but don’t even daily seek God in prayer nor seek obediently in His word… you are like a person who longs to be a king, but doesn’t want responsibility of greatness.
In his word God promises to reveal himself to those that seek Him. He even tells us how to find God. Knowing Jesus. If you aren’t spending time with Jesus, you are wasting your time.
The Bible says that Jesus is the direct image of God. The full power of Godhood dwells fully in Him. We have been given the opportunity of all time… TO KNOW HIM.
Yet we are too busy, too worried, too lazy to open our Bibles and seek Jesus. I challenge you and beg you to consider your WALK with GOD, and compare it to Enoch’s… are you caught up by God? Are you taken away so that you are no more and God becomes your everything?
This is one of my life goals. John said, “I must become less so that HE may become more.” By seeking and surrendering to God and His word, you WILL hear from God. You will learn HIS WILL for your life. YOU WILL FIND HOLINESS AND COMPLETENESS… in HIM, but not if you bury your head in the sand and pretend to be looking for God.
The sad thing about the way Muslims often view America is that many true Christians view America’s moral decay with the same disgust and frustration we simply take a different approach to reaching out and bringing change.
As a follower or Jesus, I am sad that people who claim the name Christian, practice things that are immoral, and celebrate evil.
Just look at all of the commandments that are being broken.
God gave us the 10 commandments, we are to speak and act justly with purity, both sexual and moral, but so many people claim the name “Christian” but do not follow the teaching of living a pure and Holy Life before God.
PARTIAL OBEDIENCE IS DISOBEDIENCE…
In Exodus, God gave these commands for a standard of right living:
“And God spoke all these words, saying: ‘I am the LORD your God…”
ONE: ‘You shall have no other gods before Me.’
TWO: ‘You shall not make for yourself a carved image–any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.’
THREE: ‘You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain.’
FOUR: ‘Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy.’
FIVE: ‘Honor your father and your mother.’
SIX: ‘You shall not murder.’
SEVEN: ‘You shall not commit adultery.’
EIGHT: ‘You shall not steal.’
NINE: ‘You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.’
TEN: ‘You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, nor his male servant, nor his female servant, nor his ox, nor his donkey, nor anything that is your neighbor’s.’
It appears that the Quran echoes these as well…
Even though there are major differences, there are still some basic truths that needs to be seen.
America needs to trust Jesus. Muslims need to trust in Jesus… In the Muslim faith you have no assurance of salvation, but the Bible states that without Christ no man enters into heaven, there is hope in Jesus. You can believe in Jesus name, for salvation and freedom. The Bible teaches, that God became man, in the form of Jesus. And paid the penalty for our sins, the ten commandments above, that we have all broken at some point. The reason America is in moral decay is because America needs Christ.
The Muslim faith says, to kill the infidel… Christ teaches us to LOVE our enemies, not kill them. “And fight in the cause of Allah with those who fight with you, and do not exceed the limits, surely Allah does not love those who exceed the limits. And kill them wherever you find them, and drive them out from where they drove you out…”
Jesus challenges the teaching of the Quran by teaching that we are to love our enemies, and not hate them, we are to do good to those that do evil to us, sadly so many false Christians do not understand or practice this true teaching. As a Christian I want to extend my respect and ask your opinion on these things… This man found the a deeper understanding can you?
